What impact do you hope to leave on the City?
|
- A solid record of thoughtful, honest and intelligent service to the citizens and our posterity. All of us in government hopefully share those goals and will help us to leave the city in a better state than we found it.
What's your favorite thing about Belvidere?
|
- The friends and family I have enjoyed in Belvidere are my all-time favorites.
What's something you'd like for people to know about you?
|
- I have found there is no downside to being a good listener.
Tell us a little about yourself/your history.
|
- I am a lifelong Belvidere resident and the youngest of nine children of Roy and Evalyn Peterson. Graduated from Perry Elementary, Belvidere Junior and Senior High Schools. Attended Rock Valley College- AAS/Marketing. Former city firefighter, Mayor and retired railroad locomotive engineer. Avid history buff, political observer and non-fiction reader, especially the wisdom of Jesus Christ, Apostle Paul, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Sowell and Victor Davis Hanson.

- Born and raised in Belvidere class of 1986.
- Loved the school system growing up. Lincoln, Belvidere Junior High and THE Belvidere High School.
