Fire Chief Shawn Schadle

Dear citizen’s and visitors of Belvidere,

My family and I are fortunate to live here in a great community with great schools and amazing parks. My wife and I have three daughters that attend Belvidere Schools, and my wife is a teacher at Central Middle School.  Since the day I was sworn in as a firefighter, my family and I have been incredibly blessed by this community and I will be forever grateful for all you have done for us.

I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a department of skilled and dedicated firefighters, EMT’s and administrators as we carry out our mission to provide emergency rescue and fire protection services that exceed expectations; to be there for the community at their greatest time of need.  There is no greater calling than to serve others when they are having an emergency.

My goal is to maintain and enhance our high level of service as our community grows.  Within the walls of the Belvidere Fire Department, I strive to create a culture where members are valued, cared for, equipped, and empowered to do their job well while growing professionally.

Thank you for taking time to visit our page.  We are always looking for others to join us on our mission to serve.  For more information, please visit the career section of the website.

With gratitude,

Chief Schadle
