Electric Aggregation Program Information
The City of Belvidere is again continuing our municipal aggregation program with MC Squared Energy Services. Ratepayers will be charged the exact same rate as ComEd and will continue to be billed by ComEd. There will be virtually no changes to residents. Belvidere residents approved an aggregation program by referendum in 2012.
Notices will be mailed to residents and small businesses around February 16th, 2024. Not all residents will receive a notice. Here are some important notes:
The City of Belvidere offers an electric aggregation program. A Chicago based company, MC Squared Energy Services, LLC (mc2), was selected in a competitive bid process to serve the City with electric supply. MC Squared will provide eligible residents and small businesses with an electric supply price equal to the ComEd rate through the remaining term ending with the October 2024 ComEd meter read cycle.
You are not required to do anything to participate. MC Squared will automatically process your enrollment. You will pay the same rate as the published monthly ComEd rate. There are no enrollment fees or early termination fees. Also, ComEd will continue to bill and deliver your energy. There will be virtually no change to residents.
Opt-Out Option: You have twenty-one (21) days from the date of this notice to opt out. You may opt out by calling 1-877-691-0210, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or visiting https://www.mc2energyservices.com/municipal-aggregation/optout
If Residents have previously made a decision other than ComEd, they will not be included in the program. Those residents who are on the ComEd hourly program, have solar panels, or chose a different supplier will not receive a letter. If those residents would like to Opt In to the program they can do that by following the below link with the password “Belvidere City”
