The BELVIDERE POLICE DEPARTMENT has 44 sworn officers, and is a progressive agency with highly motivated and committed Police Officers that work with the community to provide a safe living, learning, and working environment to all citizens and visitors in the City of Belvidere.
The Belvidere Police Department is currently accepting applications for entry level police officers and lateral transfers of certified police officers.

- Starting Salary: $65,172 (Effective 5/1/25)
- 2-3 years full-time police experience: $72,796-$74,783 (Effective 5/1/25)
- 4-5 years full-time police experience: $80,884 (Effective 5/1/25)
- 9-10 year full time police experience: $87,585 (Effective 5/1/25)
- 10-11 year full time police experience: $91,730 (Effective 5/1/25)
- 13+ years full time police experience: $99,003 (Effective 5/1/25)
- 12 Hour shifts
