Community Policing Coordinator

The Belvidere Police Department has one officer dedicated full time to the position of Community Policing Coordinator. The Community Policing Coordinator facilitates positive relationships between the Belvidere Police Department and the community by organizing meetings, events, and forums where residents can voice their concerns, provide input, and collaborate on solutions to local issues.
This may involve establishing partnerships with community organizations, neighborhood associations, schools, and businesses. The Community Policing Coordinator assists in neighborhood watch groups, the Citizen’s Police Academy, VIP (Volunteers in Policing) Program, community food drives, and other events when necessary.
