Fire & Police Commission
The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners consists of three city residents appointed by the Mayor, with the consent of City Council, and serve three-year terms. The Commission recruits, selects, and appoints qualified candidates to fill sworn vacancies within the Fire and Police Departments with the exception of the two Chiefs, determines testing and selection processes for promotions, and conducts disciplinary hearings with regard to misconduct.
